Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is likely to remain at the Blues after no clubs made any offers for the England international.
Chelsea have “genuine regret” they couldn’t find a solution for Ben Chilwell in the transfer window
Another summer has and gone and once again there was a lot of activity in regards to players both coming in and leaving the club.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka could leave the club in the January transfer window. After both became surplus to requirements at the Blues.
Ben Chilwell signed a new contract with สมัคร ufabet Chelsea until 2027 last year, worth £200,000 a week. But has lost his place at the Blues this season under manager Enzo Maresca.
The wages that 28-year-old defender Ben Chilwell is earning at Chelsea are too high for most clubs in the Premier League and across Europe and the star’s wages have led to the likes of Brentford, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce all turning their noses at the left-back in January.
For Ben Chilwell, he has only made one appearance this season and was an unused substitute in the other, both in the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea couldn’t find solution for Chilwell
There were a number of high profile players the club deemed surplus to requirements and whilst Sterling completed a late loan move to Arsenal with Chalobah doing the same to Crystal Palace, there’s one player who the Blues couldn’t find a solution for.
It was pretty clear Enzo Maresca didn’t see Chilwell as a fit for his system given he likes the full back to invert into midfield and despite going on the pre-season tour of America the writing was clearly on the wall as the left back played just 64 minutes.
However, there was surprisingly very little interest in Chilwell. With Manchester United reportedly turning down the opportunity to sign him.
