Kevin De Bruyne has admitted he does not know if this will be his last season at Manchester City and has revealed he has put contract talks on hold to focus on his performances on the pitch.
Asked about his future, De Bruyne replied: “I really don’t know.”
“At the start of the season I knew there would be talks but then the injury happened against Brentford. It was supposed to be a couple of days. But it turned into eight or nine weeks so I put it on hold.”
“I spoke in the summer. But then I got injure. So I wasn’t in the right place to talk about it. I have to get back on the pitch and be myself again. ยูฟ่าเบท I can’t rush the contract. And I’m not worried about it.”
De Bruyne’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and the Belgian midfielder revealed he held talks with the club in the summer but has now put that on hold.
The 33-year-old has not started for City since September 18 but is likely to return to the starting XI for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Feyenoord Rotterdam.
De Bruyne has been at City for 10 years and has been link with a move to Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer side San Diego FC.
